Catlog · Lagos, Nigeria (Mostly Remote) · Full-Time
Something has shifted in how businesses get built. The next generation of big brands aren't starting in shops or offices — they're starting on Instagram & TikTok. A DM here, a story there, and someone has a real business on their hands. Thousands of orders, loyal customers, and products people love.
But social media wasn't built for business. Behind every business on social media is a business owner drowning in screenshots, chasing payments on WhatsApp, tracking orders in a notebook, and losing sleep over whether they've recorded everything correctly. The chaos is real, and it's the price most social sellers pay just to keep up.
Catlog exists to change that. We're building the operating system for social commerce in Africa — the tools that help businesses born on Instagram grow into real, structured, scalable operations. We work with merchants across Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, and South Africa, and we believe the future's biggest African brands are out there right now, selling from their phones. We want to power them.
We move fast, care deeply about the details, and build things that genuinely matter to the people using them.
We're looking for a growth marketer, but the emphasis is firmly on growth.
Marketing is very much part of this job, content, copy, campaigns, brand communications. But what guides all of it is data. You won't run a campaign because it feels right. You'll run it because the numbers point there, and you'll know exactly what you're measuring to call it a success or move on.
Beyond the marketing, you'll also be thinking about growth more broadly: how do we get people talking about Catlog? What communities should we be in? What partnerships would actually move the needle? You'll work directly with the founder to shape growth strategy and own the execution.
The right person for this role has probably already grown something — a side business, a personal brand, a newsletter, a community. Something real, with numbers attached, and lessons learned.
